Pressure cleaner fan rotor

CASE STUDY

This product is a cooling fan for a hot water pressure cleaner: It moves an important amount of air thanks to its specifically designed wings profile. During its operation it rotates at high angular velocity.

Product criticities

  • Strict geometric tolerances must be met, in order for the product to be well balanced. In this way undesired vibrations can be avoided during rotation.
  • The product must be assembled on a motor shaft.
  • The high number of wings can cause product de-moulding issues.

Solutions

  • A central injection system is selected, to reduce product ovality as much as possible.
  • The mould is equipped with a robust ejection system, to avoid the risk of incorrect de-moulding of the product.
  • The mould is equipped with a robust ejection system, to avoid the risk of incorrect de-moulding of the product.
RESULT

The dynamic balancing of this component is excellent, and the well-dimensioned ejection system guarantees the execution of a reliable and repeatable process, not being subject to failures or machine downtime. Finally, the coupling system, which was realized with a metallic component allows to precisely assemble the fan on its rotor shaft, in compliance with tolerances of hundredths of a millimetre.
